DO YOU HAVE ETHICS?

Ethics, as defined, is a branch of philosophy that deals with the rightness or wrongness of human act.

In our present situation, we encounter ethical issues. From the people we used to talk everyday, to the local news we saw on TV. From the radio announcers and even to ourselves. Evrythings ahs it, it has an ethical issue indeed.

In our class Media Ethics, we learned that even the most respected news organization in the country commits violations with regards to media ethics.

But, why we have to follow these words? Isn't it enough that we've delivered the information for the consumption of the public? Isn't it enough that we just did what we have to do as a journalist?

Well, my answer would be, no.

That's why we have this what we called ethics, we live to follow these, and breaking it is a mortal sin.

As we go further in our class, we keep on discovering ethical issues that even in the early days of journalism, these were already violated.

As one's says... "The Journalism (media) is the watchdog of the public."

We should be responsible in any information we deliver, we should not be basing on the legal guidelines, but we should also consider our ethics.
